Honoring Child Care Providers in CYP

Honoring Child Care Providers in CYP

During Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4–8, 2026) and National Provider Appreciation Day (May 8, 2026), the Marine Corps recognizes the dedication and impact of our Child and Youth Programs (CYP) professionals. Through a diverse portfolio of programs and highly trained professionals, CYP strives to meet the evolving needs of 21st century Marine Corps families while supporting the growth, resilience, and well-being of military children.

Child Development Centers

Providers at child development centers deliver high-quality childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.

They create nurturing environments where children can learn, thrive, and grow. Through structured curriculum, developmental activities, and individualized attention, providers build a strong foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

These professionals play a vital role in supporting military families by ensuring safe, reliable, and development-focused childcare.

School Age Care

School Age Care programs, available to children ages 5 to 12, provide safe and enriching spaces where children explore interests, build friendships, and develop social skills.

Dedicated professionals facilitate engaging activities that promote growth, teamwork, and personal development. Their support helps children build confidence as they participate in structured recreation and learning opportunities.

Family Child Care

Providers in Family Child Care homes offer personalized,  flexible care in home-based settings for children of all ages.

By opening their homes, these caregivers create a home-away-from-home environment built on trust and strong relationships. Their individualized approach ensures children receive attentive care tailored to their unique needs.

Youth and Teen

Youth and teen programs support older children by fostering resilience, leadership, and overall well-being.

Through recreation, mentorship, skill-building activities, and career preparation opportunities, these programs empower youth to develop essential life skills and confidence for the future.

CYP professionals guide and inspire young participants, helping them grow academically, socially, and personally.

Thank You to Our CYP Professionals

The Marine Corps extends heartfelt gratitude to all Child and Youth Programs professionals for their dedication to military families and their continued commitment to excellence.

Your service strengthens families and supports readiness across the force.
